INTRODUCTION OF A EUROPEAN LAW FOR THE RECOGNITION OF THE CAREGIVER FIGURE
(The term "Caregiver", an English word that has long entered our daily lexicon, refers to someone who takes care of another person in a continuous and relevant manner over time; the family Caregiver, in particular, takes care without end of profit.)
GIVEN that every day we witness scandals, omissions, moments of abandonment and forgetfulness of fragile people, often forced and directed and redirected to private associations and also to public structures that discourage the parent, relative or person who takes care of them, precisely the caregiver, to FIGHT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PRO TEMPORE AND NEVER DEFINITIVE OR PERPETUAL MEASURES TO SUPPORT THE DISABLED FORGOTTEN ALREADY IN HIS EXISTENCE. Any legal recognition OF THIS FIGURE is in itself of autonomous effectiveness to all the legislative anomalies that create all those obstacles and injustices for that person who has already in itself applied for emotional reasons or social generosity to take on the full-time job of a disabled person with total needs and certainly a way to significantly save public money and give a happy life to these people, involving and building empathy and affection. Recognition therefore allows us to overcome all the legal and bureaucratic organizational aspects that often lead parents or those who take care of vulnerable people to give up and not take advantage of those services, even if few already exist today but unattainable. The figure of the caregiver then has his own blameless destiny from which he cannot escape, almost linked to the destiny of the patient, he has personal time limits, he has limits in finding employment, he has career limits and many other vital handicaps to which it seems unfair not give gratitude, also in terms of the quality of his life (prefer an alternating substitute). Today there are in some realities relief communities, very expensive for the community, and also adequate individual economic recognition which will weigh much less on society than any public bandwagon. Furthermore, we must consider the fragile subject as a common subject, that is, of the family but also of society, which undertakes in symbiosis with the family to provide its absolute and indiscriminate protection and assistance, passing through the recognition of this figure. Already in several states of the EUROPEAN COMMUNITY, there is legal recognition and the institution of this figure, which we must make universal and unconditional with the obligation of member states to adopt the measure. The legislation in the various European states where the figure of the caregiver is recognized provides specific protections for family caregivers, including welfare holiday supports, economic benefits and social security contributions, as happens in France, Spain, Great Britain but also in Poland, Romania and Greece. We would have more happiness for disabled people, for their assistants and fewer social costs that weigh heavily on the community.
